Women
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. When Is The Gathering Place?
The Gathering Place will be the 2nd Friday evening of each month from Oct-April from 6:30-8:45pm.
What Is the Purpose of The Gathering Place?
The purpose of The Gathering Place is to foster a culture of Titus 2 discipleship among the women of FCC and their friends. Women will have the opportunity to minister to and learn from other women, encourage each other to take the next step in their Christian walk and lean on one another in the trials of life. The Gathering Place name is a reference to women in Bible times and how they gathered together at the well for these same purposes.
What Will We DO At The Gathering Place?
Our monthly gathering will consist of:
- Fellowship/snack time
- Large group teaching time from Titus 2
- Small group time
- "Disciple-Shop" Time: This will consist of FCC women teaching practical life skills to other women (e.g. budget wisdom, healthy cooking, how to study the Bible, home organization, decorating, how to have daily quiet time, etc.) Workshops may also be "testimony" based allowing other to learn from situations or trials God helped them through (e.g. single parenting, miscarriage, marriage problems, etc.)
Is Bible Study Involved?
Yes. The Gathering Place personal study workbook is included with your Gathering Place registration. It contains a manageable amount of study to be completed before the next monthly gathering. (Approximately 5 sections or days of personal study) The topics in the study guide will correspond to the topic presented at the next gathering.
How Can I Join?
Contact Jenni Whitaker. Registration is $17 and includes the Bible study workbook.
Women are encouraged to join throughout the year. Since each month's lesson is self-contained, you will be able to jump into wherever we are in the study. You are also encouraged to invite a friend to join us at any time throughout the year. Although we hope you can come every month, please know that you are still welcome to come back even if you have missed some months.
The Gathering Place is a Bible study but also much more. It is a way for women to mentor each other in an easy and fun format. It is our hope and prayer that you will join us at The Gathering Place at FCC. Women of all ages have others they can be an encouragement to and teach. Likewise, there are always women that you can learn from and gain wisdom from no matter your stage in life.
