Youth

FCC's youth ministry, Transformed, exists to connect students to God's story - to know the story, to grow in the story, and to go with the story. Transformed is for students from 6th-12th grades. This fall, we are beginning a new format. Senior High students will meet on Sunday evenings, and Junior High students will meet on Wednesday evenings. We also may have off-site and/or outreach events that require additional volunteer help.

As a result of an exhaustive evaluation, we've recognized that the bar for our youth ministry volunteers should be higher. To make disciples of the next generation, volunteers need to see themselves as role models and have a heart for teenagers. After parents, they are the primary example of a disciple of Christ. They need to teach with their words and actions. All teachers & helpers will also be encouraged to teach for response - touching the heart as well as the head. Therefore, we require that volunteers routinely attend Sunday morning services and be actively strengthening discipleship in their own lives. We will provide monthly gatherings that will focus on training, accountability, fellowship and encouragement. These meetings will also equip volunteers for ongoing excellence in their ministry.

No one is perfect, but not everyone who wants to serve in youth ministry is ready to serve. Because of that fact, we recognize that it's important for us to provide opportunities for servants to develop their gifts and provide training to assist them in becoming effective in handling the Word with children and ultimately ready to serve. Contact the church office if you'd like to become involved!
